Ivan Cohen has 38 years of experience as an insurance agent and broker. He is the president of The Cohen-Putnam Agency, Ltd. Mr. Cohen was a senior adjunct professor of insurance for thirteen years at Westchester Community College. He is currently a subject matter expert for the New York State Department of Financial Services and is on the Insurance Exam Review Committee.

During this presentation, Mr. Cohen will discuss:

• The basis of E & O claims
• The difference between an agent and broker
• How to identify the relationship(s) between the agent and/or broker and the insured
• The features and potential duties that an agent or broker may owe to an insured based on the type of relationship and specific circumstances that formulate the standard of care
